What scholarship families should know about boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai
The Short Answer
Yes. Wolfpack Boxing Club in Miami is an approved Step Up For Students provider, listed in the EMA Marketplace, for boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai training, for kids ages 5–12 and teens 13 and up. Group classes are $180–$200 a month, and one-on-one training starts at $40 a session.
What your scholarship can pay for depends on which Step Up scholarship your child has and Step Up’s current rules, so check your account first. Then search for Wolfpack Boxing Club in the EMA Marketplace, or see our Step Up programs and pricing.
A lot of Step Up families know their scholarship can cover more than tuition, but they’re not sure whether a boxing gym counts, or whether boxing is even a good fit for their kid. Here’s the straight answer on both.
What Is Step Up For Students?
Step Up For Students is the nonprofit organization that manages Florida’s K–12 scholarship programs. Some of those scholarships are mainly for private school tuition. Others work like an education savings account, where families can put funds toward approved programs and services outside a traditional classroom.
Because the rules differ by scholarship and can change from year to year, your Step Up account and the Step Up For Students website are always the final word on what’s covered for your child.
Is Wolfpack an Approved Step Up Provider?
Yes. Wolfpack Boxing Club is an approved Step Up For Students provider through EMA, the platform Step Up families use to find approved providers and use their scholarship funds. To find us, log in to your Step Up account, open the EMA Marketplace, and search for Wolfpack Boxing Club.
If you get stuck anywhere in the process, call us at (786) 592-1006. We’ll walk you through it.
Why Boxing and Martial Arts for Your Kid?
Boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai train a kid’s body and focus at the same time. You can’t zone out mid-round. Every class is stance, footwork, and technique, repeated until it’s right, and that builds the kind of discipline that carries over outside the gym.
It’s also a real, measurable skill. Kids can see themselves get better week to week, which does more for confidence than any pep talk. And it’s self-defense that’s taught with restraint: kids learn control before they learn power. (More on that in Is Boxing Good for Kids?)
Is Boxing a Good Fit for Kids with ADHD or Autism?
Every kid is different, and no sport is a fix for anything. But a few things about how we coach tend to work well for students with ADHD, autism, and other unique abilities:
- Structure and repetition. Classes follow a consistent flow, and technique is drilled the same way every time. Kids know what’s coming next.
- Clear, physical goals. Hit the pad. Step, then jab. Short, concrete instructions instead of abstract ones.
- A patient, individualized approach. Coaches adjust to the student in front of them, not the other way around.
- One-on-one when it helps. Private sessions let your child learn at their own pace, without a crowded room, and move into group classes when they’re ready.
If you’re not sure which setting fits your child, start with a free class or a single private session and talk to the coach afterward.

One-on-one pricing is the same for kids and teens.
Is There a Homeschool Option?
Yes. Our homeschool program runs during the school day, two days a week, in a small group setting for kids and teens. It’s the same coaching standard as every other class, built around a homeschool schedule, and it works as structured PE with real skills attached.
Group Classes or One-on-One: Which Should You Choose?
- Choose group classes if your kid does well around peers and you want unlimited training for a flat monthly fee.
- Choose one-on-one if your child does better with focused attention, needs to go at their own pace, or wants to build confidence before joining a group.
- Choose homeschool daytime classes if you homeschool and want structured PE during the school day.
